Whether you're just starting out as a beginner Metal Detectorist or looking to enhance your skills as a seasoned Treasure Hunter, our courses and workshops are here to support you on your exciting journey to reach your goals.
Over the last few years LMS Metal Detecting workshops and courses have become quite popular and fill up very quickly. Our upcoming 2026 metal detecting courses are almost completely full, and we are currently running a waiting list for people looking for possible cancellations in the first half of the season.
While we continue to offer our four-week Spring, Summer, and Fall metal detecting courses, there is also a one-day, 2-hour option. (Currently booked through April 2026) These one-day workshops are targeted at specific brands that are most commonly requested by detectorists. Please use the form below if you would like to be placed on the extended schedule. All courses and workshops are limited to a maximum of 10 people, with a minimum of 18 years of age.
As always, there is no need to be scheduled for a workshop if you are interested in purchasing a new metal detector and are not sure which one will best fit your personal needs. We are happy to spend time with you answering questions, showing you all the options, and how to operate them. You do not need a metal detector to participate in a workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Dates and Times: Each complete course consists of six 2-hour workshops spread over 4 to 6 weeks. Details such as dates, times, location, syllabus, and cost will be provided when registration begins. Our one-day, 2-hour workshops are held weekly at the Murrells Inlet, SC office throughout the year.
What is the Cost? Do I have to pay when I pre-register?
Cost is between $50 and $100 per person (depending on location). Payment is due before full registration. The cost will also be posted along with the schedule. Our Workshops and Courses are not offered online. These are in-person sessions.
Will I be able to cancel if my schedule changes?
Some refunds are issued for early cancelations as we do understand that sometimes life happens and things change unexpectedly.
