Founded:
Low Country Treasure Hunters of the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, and the Florida Coastline joined together over 36 years ago, founding the Group LMS Metal Detecting. We are located in Murrells Inlet, SC, and travel all over the eastern U.S. All of our members share a high standard of ethics to save and preserve the history that was lost, hidden, or just left behind. Our reputation with private land owners, commercial properties, big game hunting clubs, historical societies, and preservation organizations speaks volumes of our dedication to the path of success by working together and recovering what was once lost, or even thought to have happened in a certain location.

Our Story:
LMS Metal Detecting originated in the late eighties by three friends who shared a passion for treasure hunting. What started as a quest to locate an unnamed treasure has evolved over the years into a very large band of brothers and sisters. While the treasure still remains lost, we found our way into the commercial realm of metal detecting to include, live learning courses, lost jewelry recovery services, tour guides, and a retail store offering metal detecting gear.

Since the beginning of 2017, we have offered short-term metal detector and sand scoop leasing options for those vacationing in Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas, or for anyone who would like to try metal detecting before committing to a purchase.

In addition to our retail store, we can be found on all of your favorite social media platforms. While LMS Metal Detecting, LLC has grown we still retain our group status of well-respected and trusted friends with backgrounds of active duty and retired police officers, government security, history teachers, anthropologists, historians, research analysts, and more. You may have even seen some of us on your favorite television programs or news channels.
