10 inches deep in a heavily wooded area of Charleston SC. Complete with 42†(bent) barrel, flintlock mechanism, brass trigger guard, brass butt tang (without a top screw that was used on the previous 1756 pattern) and strangely the iron ramrod was lying right next to the severely bent barrel straight as an arrow. Very plausible this musket was used in the Revolutionary War.
